The generation that wasn't there

Last night — rather unexpectedly — I gave a TED talk titled “The generation that wasn’t there.”

It was about how the proliferation of mobile technology has created a generation of people who rarely share their mental space with their physical space. A generation of people who, despite being in increasingly closer proximity, are less attentive to those that they are in the company of and often less attentive to the tasks they have at hand.

It was a pretty good speech…

And then I woke up.

No idea where any of this came from. But at least I can knock “give a TED talk” off my dream bucket list.
